LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has awarded plaintiffs asserting asbestos cosmetic talc claims more than $40 million in compensatory damages at the conclusion of a trial against Johnson & Johnson, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing.

The California Superior Court for Los Angeles County jury reached the verdict on Sept. 27 after a four-week trial that began on Aug. 28. Jurors began deliberations late on Friday, Sept. 19, and continued until a verdict was reached six days later, according to court documents.
