TACOMA, Wash. –– A Washington federal court has awarded summary judgment to three companies named as defendants in an asbestos case, concluding in part that, while the evidence suggests that the decedent may have used asbestos-containing brakes at unspecified times, it does not establish that the decedent worked with the allegedly harmful brakes.

In separate Sept. 19 and 20 orders, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington concluded that the evidence has not established that the defendants’ products “caused Decedent’s injuries and death.”
