N.Y. Court Denies Summary Judgment Motion from Gasket Manufacturer in Asbestos Case

NEW YORK –– A gasket and packing manufacturer’s efforts to obtain summary judgment in an asbestos case have been rebuffed by a New York trial court, which concluded that it had grounds to exercise personal jurisdiction over the company.

In the June 7 order, the New York Supreme Court for New York County opined that it had already made a determination on jurisdiction as to Munaco Sealing Solutions in a separate asbestos case and it “need not and will not re-analyze personal jurisdiction” as to the company.
