NEW YORK –– Johnson & Johnson companies defending themselves against claims that a Delaware woman’s mesothelioma was caused by exposure to asbestos-contaminated talcum powder products have filed a motion for a directed verdict at the close of the plaintiffs’ evidence, arguing that, even if some of the containers sporadically contained asbestos fibers, this exposure was insufficient to cause her illness.
