N.J. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict for J&J in Latest Asbestos Cosmetic Talcum Powder Trial




NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –– A New Jersey jury has reached a defense verdict in an asbestos cosmetic talcum powder trial against Johnson & Johnson, needing less than one hour to reject the plaintiff’s claims that he developed mesothelioma as a result of using Baby Powder.

The New Jersey Superior Court for Middlesex County jury reached the verdict on March 27. Judge Ann Viscomi presided over the month-long trial.

The trial began on Feb. 25 with opening statements; plaintiffs began delivering their case the next day. Closing arguments were delivered on March 26.
