Johnson & Johnson Attacks Claims Pending in Florida Asbestos Cosmetic Talcum Powder Lawsuits

ORLANDO, Fla. –– Johnson & Johnson defendants have challenged asbestos cosmetic talcum powder complaints pending in Florida state court on pleading grounds, maintaining that the plaintiffs have failed to provide information required by the state’s Asbestos and Silica Compensation Act.

In separate motions filed March 5 and 6 in Florida 13th Judicial Circuit for Hillsborough County and Florida 9th Judicial Circuit for Orange County, the Johnson & Johnson defendants argued that the underlying claims are not recognized by Florida law and “fails to include information required by the Florida Asbestos and Silica Compensation Fairness Act.”
