Defendants Awarded Summary Judgment in N.C. Federal Asbestos Exposure Case

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina federal judge has awarded summary judgment to Farmers Chemical Association Inc. and Schlage Lock Company LLC in an asbestos case, based upon a lack of evidence that the defendants exercised control over the work sites where the alleged exposure took place.

In a March 11 order, Judge Loretta Biggs of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina further held that there is insufficient evidence to establish actual exposure to asbestos-containing products for which the defendants were responsible.
