FDA Finds Asbestos in Cosmetic Talc Products from Claire’s, Justice




WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced its finding from testing it conducted on talc-based products sold in Claire’s and Justice stores, saying that it found asbestos in three product samples from Claire’s and one of the product samples from Justice.

According to the March 5 statement, the FDA asked Claire’s to recall the aforementioned products, but the girl’s accessories and jewelry retailer has “refused to comply with the FDA’s request.”

“The FDA is therefore warning consumers not to use these products and will continue to communicate our safety concerns about them,” the statement said. …
