Louisiana Legislature Introduces Asbestos Claims Criteria Bills





Texas asbestos measure held up by Senate's failure to meet 'deadline'

photo-3Louisiana recently joined states such as Texas and Ohio in its quest to legislate asbestos litigation, introducing two bills that require plaintiffs to produce evidence they are sick before they can file suit in state court.

The parallel measures were introduced in the state's Senate and House of Representatives in late March and, among other things, restrict the filing of an action alleging injury from asbestos exposure to residents of Louisiana.
