N.J. Court Remands Asbestos Action, Says Only State Law Claims Remain

TRENTON, N.J. –– A New Jersey federal court has remanded an asbestos case sua sponte, finding that the defendants relying on the federal officer removal statute have since been dismissed, and only state law claims remained.
In the Aug. 17 order, the U.S. District Court for the District Court of New Jersey found that “remand would serve the goals of judicial economy and comity by allowing the New Jersey courts to apply New Jersey law.”
