Md. Appellate Court Affirms $2.6 Million Judgment Entered in Asbestos Case Against Drywall Contractor

BALTIMORE –– A Maryland appellate court has affirmed a final judgment of more than $2.6 million against a drywall contractor, finding that there was sufficient evidence to support the plaintiff’s claims.

In the July 6 opinion, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals concluded that the evidence “sufficiently identified LEM as the drywall contractor” for the plaintiff’s jobsite.

Patrick Rossello filed the underlying suit against Lloyd E. Mitchell Inc., contending that he was exposed to asbestos-containing products used by LEM during construction at his workplace in the 1970s. As a result of the exposure, Rossello said he developed pleural malignant mesothelioma. …
