Wis. Court Awards Summary Judgment to Weyerhaeuser in Non-Occupational, Community Exposure Asbestos Cases

MADISON, Wis. –– A Wisconsin federal court has awarded summary judgment to Weyerhaeuser Co. in two cases involving non-occupational and community exposure asbestos claims, finding that the plaintiffs had failed to proffer enough causation evidence to support their claims.

In the June 8 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin failed to find significant, non-occupational exposure in the cases brought on behalf of former employees of the defendant.
