Jury Awards $37 Million at Conclusion of Phase I in Asbestos Trial Against J&J for Talcum Powder Products




NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. –– A New Jersey jury has awarded $37 million at the conclusion of the first phase of a trial against Johnson & Johnson, marking the first time a jury has found for a plaintiff on claims that the defendant’s talcum powder products contained asbestos.

The New Jersey Superior Court for Middlesex County jury reached the verdict earlier this afternoon. Hon. Ana Viscomi presided over the trial, which began on Jan. 29.
