Calif. Court Affirms Summary Judgment Award to Defendant in Take-Home Asbestos Exposure Case

SAN FRANCISCO –– A California appellate court has affirmed an award of summary judgment to a defendant in a take-home asbestos exposure case, concluding that the plaintiff had failed to present evidence that the decedent’s father was exposed to asbestos-containing products at the worksite in question.

In the March 8 opinion, the California First District Court of Appeal, Division Two, opined that admissible evidence connecting the decedent’s father with the defendant was “thin at best.”
