N.Y. High Court Denies Asbestos Defendant’s Motion for Leave to Appeal $4 Million Verdict

ALBANY, N.Y. –– New York’s highest court has denied an asbestos defendant’s motion for leave to appeal an intermediate appellate court’s order affirming a $4 million verdict, in which the court opined that there was sufficient evidence “to establish that asbestos in products they supplied was a substantial factor in causing or contributing to plaintiff’s injuries.”

In a Dec. 14 one-page order, the New York Court of Appeals denied defendant’s Charles Millar & Son Co.’s motion.
