Plaintiffs in Asbestos-Containing Talc Case Oppose Efforts to Revisit Jurisdiction

PITTSBURGH –– Plaintiffs in an asbestos-containing talcum powder case have opposed Colgate-Palmolive’s recent efforts to revisit the question of jurisdiction in the case, maintaining that the U.S. Supreme Court’s Daimler decision does not eliminate consent to general personal jurisdiction over a company registered to do business in the state.

In an Aug. 7 opposition brief filed in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Allegheny County, the plaintiffs argued that the defendant had failed to raise a substantial question of jurisdiction.
