Fla. Appellate Court Affirms $9 Million Asbestos Verdict Against Northrop Grumman

MIAMI –– A Florida appellate court has affirmed a $9 million verdict entered against Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., finding in part that the defendant was not in a position to require the plaintiff to present precise quantifications of exposure given that the company failed to monitor and quantify airborne asbestos levels at its plants.

In the Sept. 6 opinion, the Florida 3rd District Court of Appeal also rejected the defendant’s assignments of error relating to causation, timeliness of party substitution and the inclusion of non-parties on the verdict form.
