Defendants File Official Notice of Appeal, Contest CMO Filed in NYCAL Docket Reinstating Punitive Damages

NEW YORK –– Defendants involved in New York City’s coordinated asbestos docket has filed a notice of appeal contesting a new case management order that reinstates punitive damages over the objection of defendants.

Several of the defendants –– including Courter & Co., Volkswagen Group of America Inc., Mercedes-Benz U.S.A., LLC, Nissan North America Inc., Julius Kraft Co. Inc., Woolsulate Corp., Aecom Energy & Construction Inc., Resco Holdings, the Strober Organization, and Probuild Holdings –– filed the notice of appeal on Aug. 4 in the New York Supreme Court for New York City.
