N.Y. Appellate Court Affirms $4 Million Asbestos Verdict, Rejects Challenges to Causation

ROCHESTER, N.Y. –– A New York appellate court has affirmed a $4 million asbestos verdict, finding that there was sufficient evidence “to establish that asbestos in products they supplied was a substantial factor in causing or contributing to plaintiff’s injuries.”
In the April 28 opinion, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department, further rejected defense objections to specific causation and how many of the decedent’s former co-workers could be called to testify.
