BISMARCK, N.D. –– The governor of North Dakota has signed into law legislation requiring asbestos plaintiffs to disclose the asbestos trust claims that have been submitted and a listing of all trust claims that could have been made by the plaintiff.

The legislation was signed into law by Gov. Doug Burgum (R) on April 14.

Under the bill, plaintiffs filing asbestos lawsuits will have 30 days to provide the court with a sworn statement indicating an investigation of all asbestos trust claims has been conducted and all asbestos trust claims that could be made by the plaintiff have been filed.
