Idaho Legislators Fail to Pass Asbestos Bankruptcy Trust Bill Through Committee

BOISE, Idaho –– Efforts to pass asbestos bankruptcy trust legislation in Idaho has failed to pass through the House Judiciary, Rules and Administration Committee, with the panel failing to approve the legislation in a voice vote.
On March 7, the panel killed the legislation following a hearing lasting approximately four hours, according to published reports.
The legislation –– introduced to the House of Representatives on Feb. 28 –– would have required claimants to make certain disclosures and to allow a defendant to file motions regarding additional or trusts.
