Minnesota Court Adopts Inactive Docket for Asbestos Cases

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Noting that more than 900 asbestos cases are pending before the court, the Minnesota Second Judicial District Court for Ramsey County has adopted an inactive docket for cases not actively being prepared for trial. In re: Minnesota Personal Injury Asbestos Cases, No. C8-94-2875 (Minn. 2nd Jud. Dist. Ct., Ramsey Cty.).
In a June 28 order, the court stipulated that in order for an asbestos plaintiff's claims to be removed from the inactive docket, the plaintiff must have developed an asbestos-related cancer, a respiratory ailment or have been diagnosed by a B-reader with asbestosis.
