Calif. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict for Amcord at Conclusion of Take-Home Asbestos Exposure Trial

LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has reached a defense verdict for Amcord Inc. in a take-home exposure asbestos case, rejecting the plaintiffs’ claims that the decedent developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos fibers from the defendant’s gun plastic cement products.
The California Superior Court for Los Angeles County reached the verdict on Sept. 30. Judge Stephen Moloney presided over the trial.
The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Virginia Schiszler, contending that she developed pleural mesothelioma as a result of secondhand exposure to asbestos. Schiszler specifically came into contact with asbestos fibers on her husband’s …
