Crane Co. Files Notice of Appeal in Asbestos Case that Ended in $1 Million Verdict

PHILADELPHIA –– A Pennsylvania federal court has rejected a motion for judgment as a matter of law, saying that the evidence of record is “legally sufficient” to support the jury’s verdict, which was $1 million.

On Sept. 23, Crane Co. filed a notice of appeal in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, saying it intended to contest the court’s post-trial orders in the case.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Valent Rabovsky, arguing that he was exposed to asbestos-containing products while working as a union millwright in the 1950s. During the course of his …
