NEW YORK –– A New York trial court has denied a valve manufacturer’s motion for summary judgment in an asbestos case, concluding in part that the defendant could be held liable for the acts of its subsidiary.
In the Aug. 17 order, the New York Supreme Court for New York City additionally rejected challenges to product identification and causation in the case.
Gaspar Hernandez-Vega asserted the underlying claims, contending that he was exposed to asbestos-containing products during his career as a pipefitter.
