Conn. Court Awards Summary Judgment to Crane Manufacturer in Asbestos Case

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. –– A Connecticut court has awarded summary judgment to an asbestos defendant, finding that the plaintiff had failed to create a genuine issue of material fact as to whether the decedent was exposed to asbestos in the defendant’s products.
In the July opinion, the Connecticut Superior Court, Judicial District of Fairfield, said that testimony from the defendant’s records custodian established the absence of a causal connection between the defendant’s conduct and the decedent’s injuries.
