BALTIMORE –– A Maryland court has awarded summary judgment to an asbestos defendant, concluding that the plaintiffs had failed to include any allegations against the defendant in their complaint.
In the Aug. 15 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland noted that the motion was unopposed.
The plaintiffs asserted the claims, contending that Robert C. Fish was exposed to asbestos-containing products at New York Shipbuilding and Drydock in the 1960s. Fish additionally came into contact with asbestos-containing automotive parts while working around, and with, cars, the plaintiffs said.
