N.Y. Trial Court Refuses to Consolidate 4 Asbestos Actions for Trial

NEW YORK –– A New York trial court has refused to consolidate four asbestos cases for trial, ruling that the differences between the lawsuits predominate over the commonalities.
In a July 27 order, the New York Supreme Court for New York County noted that of the 14 defendants remaining in the four cases, 10 of them are only in one case.
The plaintiffs had moved the court to issue an order consolidating Anderson, Abreu (No. 190133/14), Demartino (No. 190128/14), and Scalera (No. 190398/13) for trial.
