TRENTON, N.J. –– New Jersey is the latest state to introduce asbestos personal injury trust disclosure legislation, with a bill now pending in the Assembly Judiciary Committee of New Jersey.
The legislation –– introduced to the State of New Jersey 217th Legislature on June 2 –– was sponsored by Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi (Dist. 39) and Assemblyman Gordon M. Johnson (Dist. 37).
Under the bill, plaintiffs would be required to file personal injury trust claims under certain circumstances. Additionally, the legislation addressed the allocation of trust claims and establishes scheduling and discovery requirements for certain tort actions, according to the …
