N.C. Court Grants Plaintiff Request for Jurisdictional Discovery in Case Involving Asbestos-Containing Talc in Bowling Product

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– A North Carolina federal court has granted a plaintiff request to conduct jurisdictional discovery, saying that there was conflicting evidence regarding who was responsible for distributing the asbestos-containing bowling product that was eventually used by the decedent.
In the June 2 order, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina noted that while the companies say they never shipped the talc-based product used on the bottom of bowling shoes, there is evidence that the products were shipped to the state through distributors.
