Calif. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict in Favor of Union Carbide at Conclusion of Asbestos Trial

LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of asbestos defendant Union Carbide, rejecting claims involving the defendant’s Calidria asbestos.

Judge John Kralik of the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County presided over the trial, which ended in a defense verdict on Feb. 8, according to the verdict sheet.

The plaintiffs asserting the claims argued that Victor Jasniy was injured as a result of exposure to asbestos-containing products manufactured by the defendants. Jasniy encountered the allegedly harmful products while working in the construction, automotive, welding, and aircraft industries.
