EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– An Illinois federal court has denied motions for summary judgment filed by two asbestos defendants, ruling that the plaintiff had established a genuine issue of material fact as to whether he was exposed to asbestos-containing products manufactured by both of the companies.

In two separate orders issued Jan. 28, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois denied motions for summary judgment by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., and Excelsior Packing & Gasket Co.
