House of Representatives Expected to Vote on Asbestos Bankruptcy Settlement Trust Disclosure Legislation This Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote this week on legislation aimed at reducing fraud in the asbestos bankruptcy trust system, sources told HarrisMartin.
According to the House’s online system, the legislation was placed on Calendar No. 271 on Nov. 30.
Sources indicated to HarrisMartin that the FACT Act of 2015 is expected to be combined with the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2015.
The House Committee of the Judiciary passed H.R. 526, the Furthering Asbestos Claim Transparency Act (FACT Act), on May 14 after a consideration and mark-up session was held.
