Ohio Appellate Court Affirms Jury’s Finding Allowing Asbestos Plaintiff to Seek Workers’ Compensation Benefits

DEFIANCE, Ohio –– An Ohio appellate court has affirmed a jury’s finding that the widow of a former General Motors employee is entitled to workers’ compensation benefits, ruling that there was enough evidence to support the jurors’ verdict.

In the Nov. 30 opinion, the Ohio Court of Appeals for the Third District in Defiance County in part found that General Motors hadn’t presented evidence to counter the plaintiff’s declaration that asbestos products were present at the plant and used by her husband during the course of his employment.
