MINEOLA, N.Y. –– A New York state court has granted an unopposed motion for summary judgment filed by Eaton Corp. in an asbestos case, according to a recent order.
The New York Supreme Court for Nassau County issued the order on Oct. 1, detailing evidence submitted by the defendant in support of its position that it did not manufacture or distribute clutches during the time period in question.
Plaintiff Edmund Haegele brought the asbestos-related claims, contending that he encountered the harmful products while working on brakes, clutches and engines during his employment as a truck mechanic.
