Maryland Court Dismisses Asbestos Claims Against Hopeman Brothers

BALTIMORE –– A Maryland federal court has awarded summary judgment to Hopeman Brothers Inc. in an asbestos case, finding that the plaintiffs had not presented enough evidence that would allow a reasonable jury to conclude that the alleged exposure occurred with frequency, proximity and regularity.
In the Aug. 10 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland dismissed a number of claims against the defendant, including the claims for strict liability and negligence.
