Md. Jury Reaches Defense Verdict in 2 Asbestos Cases Involving John Crane




BALTIMORE, Md. –– A Maryland jury has reached a defense verdict in two mesothelioma cases involving John Crane Inc., rejecting claims of exposure to asbestos in gaskets, packing and rope.

Judge Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill of the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore City presided over the trial, which ended in defense verdicts on Aug. 6.

Plaintiffs in the two cases brought the claims on behalf of Waldon Edwards and Walter Koepper, arguing that the decedents were exposed to asbestos-containing gaskets, packing and rope while working as a mechanical helper and machinist, respectively.
