Okla. Jury Awards $6 Million in Asbestos-Containing Joint Compound Case Against Welco, Murco




OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. –– A jury in Oklahoma has awarded $6 million to plaintiffs asserting asbestos claims based on alleged exposure to asbestos-containing joint compound products sold by Welco Manufacturing Co. and Murco Wall Products.

The Oklahoma District Court for Oklahoma County jury reached the verdict in May. Judge Bryan C. Dixon presided over the trial.

The plaintiffs asserting the claims said that Mike Galier traveled with his father, Victor Galier, to residential construction job sites as a child and teenager. While there, Mike Galier was exposed to asbestos-containing joint compounds used on drywall, the plaintiffs said.
