Court Dismisses Asbestos Workplace Claims Against Weyerhaeuser; Allows Plaintiffs to Amend Complaint with Community Exposure Claims

MADISON, Wis. –– Asbestos plaintiffs bringing claims against their former employer will be permitted to amend their complaint to include community exposure claims, a Wisconsin federal court has ruled, finding that the amendment will not prejudice the defendant.

In the June 2 order, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin did grant the defendant’s motions for judgment on the pleadings as to any claim based on workplace exposure.
