Denial of Works’ Comp Benefits to Widow of Employee Affirmed by West Virginia Court

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –– The widow of a former Aker Oil and Gas employee’s efforts to obtain dependent benefits has been denied by a West Virginia appellate court, which found that the claimant provided no evidence regarding her husband’s work environment.

In the May 7 order, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals opined that a Workers’ Compensation Board of Review did not err when it opted to affirm the denial of benefits.
