Calif. Judge Grants Calaveras Asbestos’s Motion for Non-Suit During Trial




LOS ANGELES –– A California trial court has granted a defendant’s motion for non-suit in a case involving exposure to asbestos-containing roofing materials and talc.

In the April 23 order, Judge Randy Rhodes of the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County accepted Calaveras Asbestos Ltd.’s argument that, while it did supply W.W. Henry with fibers for its flooring products, it did not supply fiber for use in its roofing products.

Calaveras and Colgate-Palmolive were remaining in the case at the time the motion was made, sources said.
