HARRISBURG, Pa. –– A Pennsylvania appellate court has affirmed a $4.8 million verdict entered in two asbestos cases against Crane Co., in part rejecting the defendant’s position that the trial court erred in failing to consider payments the plaintiffs received from non-parties, including asbestos personal injury trusts.

In the April 17 order, the Pennsylvania Superior Court also declined to order a new trial on the issue of liability in light of the state high court decision in Tincher, saying that since Crane Co. argued that Cranite — the product that allegedly caused the plaintiffs’ injuries — was not dangerous at …
