Calif. Court Awards Summary Judgment to Rockwell Automation in Asbestos Case

LOS ANGELES –– A California federal court has awarded summary judgment to Rockwell Automation Inc., finding that there was no genuine issue of material fact as to whether the plaintiff was exposed to asbestos-containing materials manufactured by the defendant.

In the April 9 order, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said that while there was evidence that some of the defendant’s motor controllers included asbestos-containing arcs chutes and shields, there was no evidence that the motor controllers the plaintiff worked with contained the asbestos-containing material.
