N.Y. Court Adopts Report on Assessment of Attorneys’ Fees and Costs in Asbestos and Silica Insurance Dispute

NEW YORK –– A New York federal court has adopted a report and recommendation, awarding asbestos defendants $234,490.45 in attorneys’ fees and $8,720,181.85 for fees and costs arising from the underlying claims in an insurance dispute.

In the April 14 order, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York overruled Travelers objections to the report and recommendation, saying that the assessment of fees was “well-reasoned.”
