Wash. Court Awards Summary Judgment to SB Decking in Asbestos Case, Cites Lack of Causation Evidence

TACOMA, Wash. –– A Washington federal court has awarded summary judgment to asbestos defendant SB Decking Inc., finding that the plaintiffs had failed to present sufficient evidence establishing that exposure to asbestos in the defendant’s products were a substantial factor in causing his illness.

In the March 3 order, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington found that, at most, the plaintiff had established only that SB Decking’s product was on the premises of the plaintiff’s workplace.
