NEW YORK –– A New York trial court has issued a ruling on post-trial motions in five asbestos cases that concluded in a $190 million verdict, ordering that new trials on damages be held unless the plaintiffs agree to a reduction in damages totaling just under $30 million.
In a 65-page order issued Feb. 5, the New York Supreme Court for New York County rejected other defense challenges to the verdicts, finding that the evidence presented at trial support both general and specific causation.
