NEW BERN, N.C. –– A North Carolina federal court has against dismissed fraud claims in an asbestos exposure case, ruling that the plaintiffs had not sufficiently alleged the false representation claims.

In the Jan. 26 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina noted that the plaintiffs did not oppose the motions, brought by J-M Manufacturing and Formosa Plastics Corp. U.S.A.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Larry Winslow Lee, contending that he developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos-containing products he encountered while working in maintenance and construction jobs.
