Miss. Court Enters Judgment in $2.5 Million Asbestos Verdict in Oilfield Exposure Suit

JACKSON, Miss. –– A Mississippi state court recently entered judgment against Union Carbide in an asbestos-related oilfield exposure suit, finalizing a $2.5 million verdict entered late last year.
Judge Lamar Pickard of the Mississippi Circuit Court for Jefferson County presided over the trial. Sources told HarrisMartin that while the verdict was reached on Oct. 7, the trial court entered judgment in the matter on Jan. 5.
Union Carbide was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict.
