Judge Overseeing Garlock Bankruptcy Denies Plaintiff Efforts to Reopen Estimation Proceeding

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– The judge overseeing Garlock Sealing Technologies’ bankruptcy has denied a motion to reopen the estimation proceedings, which the Official Committee of Asbestos Personal Injury Claimants had claimed was necessary due to “false testimony.”
Sources told HarrisMartin that Judge George R. Hodges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina issued the ruling from the bench Dec. 4. A written decision is expected next week, sources added.
