BATON ROUGE, La. — A Louisiana appeals court has affirmed a $3.8 million award to the surviving family of a former Entergy Gulf States Louisiana employee who died from mesothelioma, allegedly as a result of exposure to asbestos at an electricity generating facility.
In a Nov. 10 decision, the state’s First Circuit Court of Appeal rejected Entergy’s argument that the judge who rendered the verdict abused his discretion by considering the family’s anguish in calculating the award.
